The Gift (I Asked God – My Version)

I asked God to give me prosperity so I could be happy with my riches.
God gave me poverty that brought wisdom saying, “Instead, I will reward you with the fruits of your labor.”

I asked God to take my pain away so with good health I could carry out great things.
God allowed me weakness to do better things and said, “I will not remove what is for you to give it up. Moreover, suffering brings you closer to me.”

I asked God to give me strength and power to gain popularity.
God replied that “difficulties and meekness would make me strong in the eyes of the Lord.”
I was made weak, learning humility and obedience.

I asked God to give me courage and wisdom.
God gave me dangerous obstacles to face fear and stamp out ignorance.

I asked God for a love story
He sent me to those without any love so I could give my love to them and our story became great.

I asked God for everything I wanted to enjoy life…
God said, “I will give you the breath of life so that you may enjoy every little thing.”

I asked God for true happiness and blessings…
God gave me free will and blessed me in addition.

I asked God for a restful spirit and to grant me patience
He gave me energy and frustration to learn compassion and he pruned me to better grow.

I received few things for which I asked but every single thing for which I hoped.
We, all people, are truly blessed.
